On a glorious sunny day a huge crowd turned out to watch a great match that featured many well known names from the past and there was no lack of skill or commitment from the players who were all playing as Speedy would have wanted with no quarter asked for or given!
Highlight of the match was right towards the end when Speedy's son Alfie came on as a replacement and raced over in the top left hand corner of the pitch for a try that his father would have been proud of.
Special thanks not only to all the players who turned out to support and help raise funds for Rugby for Heroes, but also to Steve Planchant and Issiah Young (Team Managers), Digger & Sally Gardiner for putting on such a lush barbeque, Paul Holford for organising the band, Chosen Hill FP RFC Junior Section members for programme selling etc. and last but not least to Sharon and her team of bar staff who worked tirelessly through out the day to ensure everyone was suitably refreshed!!
