A fantastic result for the 2nds who beat Old Richians by 50-12 set up their place in the Molson Coors Junior Cup Final at Kingsholm on Sunday May 10th where they will play Matson 2nds with a 2.00pm Kick Off.
Then, the 1sts will make their second Cup Final appearance when they take on Old Centralians in the Worthington Senior Cup Final with a 5.00pm Kick Off
For the record the Old Richians match went like this:
Chosen had first use of the slope and opened the scoring after 5 minutes when Number Ten Mike King crossed for a try converted by Winger Ryan Rennebach. Seven minutes later prop Rich Mellor forced his way over for try number two again converted by Rennebach.
On twenty one minutes King crossed for his second try with Rennebach adding the extras and then skipper and centre Dale Rennebach crossed for an unconverted try. Prop Stokes then crossed for an unconverted try for a 31-0 Chosen lead but Richians hit back and deep into injury time scored a converted try to give themselves hope for the second half.
An unconverted try ten minutes into the second half gave them further hope but Chosen hit back with a converted try from second row Harry Ogden.
Ryan Rennebach then crossed for a try of his own but he was unable to add the extras and Chosen then sealed victory when flanker James Wyllie crossed for a final unconverted try.
