Your October Touchline sees the RFU laying out its intent for the women’s game and launching a unique identity for England Women – the Red Roses.

Elsewhere England Rugby announce a new charity partnership with Sport Relief, the first ever Somali Sevens festival takes place and Thatcham RFC open a modern clubhouse which serves as a community hub.

Red Roses Leading Way
As England Women look to defend their Rugby World Cup title next year, the RFU has laid out its intent for the women's game over the next four years.

As well as improving the player pathway for the development of the international game, the RFU unveiled the Red Roses as the new identity for England Women.

Sport Relief Announced
England Rugby has announced a charity partnership with Sport Relief with an ambition to raise £4 million over the next four years.

The partnership will be used to support projects and programmes that use rugby to help change people’s lives and as a tool for social good.

Somali Sevens Festival
Somali players from four London boroughs, turned out for the first ever Somali sevens festival held at the end of September.

With 55 of the 57 players new to rugby, there are now plans for a showcase Mo Farrah Friendship Trophy.
