Leading by 8-7 at half-time, Chosen ran in five second half tries, including a hat trick from flanker Benny Crocker, to secure another bonus point win and maintain the pressure on second placed Chew Valley.
Yatton had first use of the Brookfield Road slope but it was Chosen who opened the scoring with a penalty goal from outside half Andy King after ten minutes. An unconverted try from winger Tom Darby five minutes later extended the home side’s lead but Yatton replied almost immediately with a converted try to go into half time trailing by a single point.
Two minutes into the second half Chosen flanker Benny Crocker raced over for a try converted by King and eight minutes later he made a great break from inside his own half before feeding centre Ed Higgs who touched down for try number three again converted by King.
Crocker was in fine form throughout the match and he then crossed for his second and the bonus point try with King converting for a 29-7 lead.
A converted try from Yatton gave them hope but then replacement outside half Harry Matthews spotted winger Darby wide out on the right and an inch-perfect cross field kick allowed Darby to race over for his second try with Matthews adding the conversion.
With full time approaching Yatton got their third converted try to bring the score to 36-21 but Chosen had the last say when Crocker crossed for his hat-trick try converted by Matthews.
Results elsewhere meant that Chosen still sit in third place just one point behind Chew Valley and in the week ahead they will face local sides Widden Old Boys (Away) in the Combination Cup on Tuesday night and then Coney Hill (Away) in their penultimate league match of the season on Saturday.
