Chosen took the lead after fourteen minutes when centre Josh Pettifer waltzed his was over for a fine individual try converted by number ten Andy King but four minutes later the hosts levelled the score when a powerful driving maul ensured they touched down near the posts with the conversion making it all square.
Chosen then lost flanker Tom Gyde to the sin bin for a tackle offence but Berry Hill were unable to capitalise on their one man advantage as they failed to score from the penalty or from a second penalty chance five minutes later and half-time arrived with the scores level at seven point all.
Seven minutes into the second half King missed the simplest of penalty goal attempts from in front of the posts and it was Berry Hill who were next to score wih a penalty goal of their own on sixty five minutes.
When a Berry Hil player was penalised for hands in a ruck King made amends for his earlier miss with a penalty goal to once again tie the scores level.
Then with minutes remaining, Berry Hill struck what looked like the winning blow when their left winger finished off a flowing backs move with an unconverted try in the corner.
As in all their recent matches, Chosen Hill refused to concede that the match was beyond them and when the Berry Hill flanker was binned for a tackle offence Chosen took a quick penalty and drove play upfield into the home twenty-two. Quickly re-cycled ball from the resulting ruck was picked up by number eight Ian Riddel and he barged his way over from ten metres out to dot down and level the scores.
King duly added the conversion with the final kick of the match and the win moved them up to seventh place in the table. Next week, Chosen travel to Bristol for another league match against Keynsham.
