Matson had first use of the Redwell Road slope and a gale force wind and opened the scoring after five minutes with a converted try scored wide out.
Three minutes later Chosen replied with a well worked unconverted try of their own, scored by in-form full back Scott Claridge, but ten minutes later he had to leave the field with an injury and the home side soon had converted try number two on the board.
A third converted try on the stroke of half time gave Matson a comfortable 21-5 interval lead but with the elements due to be in their favour, Chosen were looking to get straight back into the match.
King missed an early drop goal attempt but soon added a penalty goal that gave his side hope but Matson were in fine form and ten minutes into the half they went over for their fourth and bonus point try.
A fifth Matson try on sixty minutes gave them a unassaliable 31 - 8 lead and although Chosen went close on several occasions they were unable to add any further score.
Next week Chosen are away again as they travel to Old Bristolians for a match with a 2.30 pm kick-off.
