Washing dishes catalyst for loss!!

It was a lovely day as Chosen took to the velvet Regentsholme pitch, with a capacity crowd of about 40, which is the most I’ve seen the seconds enjoy.
Chosens’ scrummage looked strong and some quick ‘round the corner’ pick and drives took the ball wide out, it was returned quickly to find a gap for Gamble to score, Ryan Runnebach converted to make it 0 7 within 5 minutes!!!
Lydney took exception, attacking vigorously but Chosens defence was strong the back row were working hard and eventually Nick ‘double barrel’ Name cleared well.
Chosen were winning most of the scrums as the Lydney pack were surprisingly pushed off the ball, and some great battering runs from Deano, Gav and ‘the Alsop’ and Mellor was used as a roundbout pulling the Lydney defence in , eventually getting a well deserved penalty which Ryan stroked through to make it 0 - 10 at half time.
The start of the second half saw Marc Riddell catch it, and kick it down the line....a kicking back row, disgusting, even though it was better than some of our backs!!!!
Lydney were looking a bit livelier now but it was Chosen that scored next, Ryan Runny kicked through, was held back, but the ref didn’t see it, it must have been on his blind side which stretched to 360 degrees!!!! Eventually Lydney gained a scrum on their own 22, Chosen shoved them 5 metres backward......well 2 at least, Nick double Barrell jinked through fed the ball out left, after a couple of rucks the ball came back to Kieran on the wing...did I just write Kieran on the wing?!!!! Well he dived over for the try out wide on the right, Ryans kick just missed. 0 - 15.
Lydney attacked on every opportunity, but Chosen were up to it, with some great tackles keeping them out, but the pressure led to penalties against them eventually a yellow card was given to Deklan Gardiner for holding on the floor, I personally think it was for not washing his breakfast dishes, I did tell him TWICE!! This was the start of the problems as Nick Double Barrell was yellowed for a high tackle, Ridds went off with a back injury, Gav left the field with a bad shoulder (he had this from the start so fair play to him for staying on) also Kieran our try scoring front row winger had to leave the field with a bad knee, this meant we had 13 players, uncontested scrums, and players out of position. Lydney realised our demise and scored 2 quick converted tries to make it 15 - 14, but it was looking a bit ominous, Chosen defended as well as they could but the writing was on the wall, or the scoreboard, as a late penalty put Lydney into the lead, it was too late for Chosen to come back as the final whistle went. The lads had the game won before the exudus.
First Game for the thirds next week.
