Lovely Sunshine, Lovely Performance, Lovely Result

Chosen Hill made the relatively short trip to Painswick for the first ever encounter between the two teams

Game 1: Chosen Hill 2 (1) vs Painswick 1 (1)

The first game was a tight affair with Painswick shading the breakdowns and racing in to the lead with an early try. Chosen Hill responded before halftime through Harry Johns and took the lead in the second half when Daniel Laverton took a superb offload from Alex Schofield and streaked away for the decisive score.

Game 2: Chosen Hill 2 (0) vs Painswick 4 (2)

With a near full strength squad of 15 players Chosen made several changes for the second and it took a while for everybody to find their feet allowing Painswick to score two well worked 1st half tries.

In the 2nd half there was a bit more cohesion in attack which created two further scores for Harry Johns and despite an improved effort in defence Painswick also managed to score twice to pick up the victory.

Game 3: Chosen Hill 4 (2) vs Painswick 2 (2)

Due to the size of the Chosen Hill squad and the fact we were unsure of when we would ever get to see the sunshine again a third game was organized.

As in the first two matches it was another close encounter with both sides creating plenty of chances and putting in some big hits in defence. Chosen went ahead through Alex Schofield's powerful charge but soon found themselves behind to two Painswick efforts. With the final play of the half Chosen earned a turnover on their own line and from the resulting penalty the ball was worked to Daniel Laverton who fooled the opposition by juggling the ball like a circus clown before recovering control and beating several defenders on the way to the line for a fine individual score.

In the second half the superior numbers took affect and Daniel Laverton added two further scores against the tiring opposition following good interplay between the forwards and backs.

Although the scores were only shared between the three players this was a great all round squad performance with Billy Vaughan making several strong charges, Seth Wilson, Louis Hammond and Lennon Robbins all making numerous tackles around the pitch
