Chosen Hill 38 Chippenham 10

It was a lovely Sunday morning as Chippenham travelled to us for a game, from the kick off things were going well for Chosen, it was a dropped pass in the centre from Chippenham that Elliott pounced on and sprinted away that led to the first try, unfortunately missing the kick.
It wasn’t long before Chosen got their second as from a rare tidy ruck the ball was passed out and a lovely inside line from Elliott and a great follow up from Mikey Graves saw him pop over, obviously showing his brother, bluebeard, how to do it!!! Converted by Elliott.
Chosen weren’t looking good in the set pieces and their rucks were too scrappy but the pressure they put on Chippenham around the field was immense, leading to basic errors that Chosen pounced upon, but the next score was from a clearance kick that Finn McBride pressured, and stole the ball passing it to the ever present Dan Robinson to sprint and score, Elliot converting. Chippenham were by no means out of the game and a good set of hands across the field gave them an overlap and their winger scored 19 – 5. Their forwards were still dominating and putting Chosen under pressure, it was only a last ditch effort from Nick Bates, Jamie Harrison and George Tirel that held up Chippenhams prop over the line to stop the score, but from the ensuing scrum they took it on the blind side to score again, half time 19 – 10.
From the kick off Roland Jones palmed it back to Mikey Graves at pace, is there any other MG?, who offloaded to Nick Bates to score, a great long range conversion from Elliott saw the score move to 26 – 10. Chippenham were moving up the field well, using their forward and gaining good ground, any ball Chosen had was deposited 40 meters down field, it was from a good kick that Dan and Mikey put the catcher under immense pressure, keeping them in their half. Chosen Hill broke out again as Tim Rogers sprinted down the wing chipping across and the ruck that formed from that was picked up by James Foylan, who cleverly looped it out to Elliott who span it to Josh Cannon to score, the conversion was good.
Chippenham looked a bit dejected now and it MG that look them again and from that ruck James chipped across field Josh tapped back for Elliott to gather and score. Matt Mills did some good work when he came on and Nick Bates provided the tackle of the day bring their winger down when he thought he was in for a score....wrong!
Well done lads, lots to work on but lots of good points. I don’t think the score reflected the game so beware at the return fixture after Chrimbo!!!!
