Josh gets hat trick, and Dek makes his mark!
It was the world cup final day as Chosen made their way to St Marys Old boys, the All Blacks beat France 7 – 6.Chosen were given only 15 minutes to warm up, but were mentally enthused by the final! Well most were, one of those must have been Josh as his first run saw him speeding past his winger to score, Elliot missed the kick but with the strength of the wind against him it was a good shot.
St Marys were putting pressure on in the loose play attacking the rucks at pace and all getting involved, but on winning the ball did not use the wind and tried running it against our back, and with the new found centre, yes I said centre, Mikey Graves!!!!!,it was not a good move. He ball was turned over in the tackle and from the ruck the ball was spun along the line for Josh, not only outpacing his winger but stumbling on a mole hill( well thats what it looked like ) or shimmying to slow down the cover defence to go over for his second, which Elliot converted.
Chosen were strting to perform in the rucks now and from one of these Joey Mullis appeared crashed through offloading to Elliot who sprinted around the St Marys defence to score , but missed the conversion. St Marys scrum was solid and from a good set up thay span the ball wide to score in the corner, just before the end of the half. Score St Marys 5 Chosen Hill 17.
The second half saw Dan Robinson take a good catch, drive down the far touch line offload to Josh who, with little space chipped ahead, caught the ball and sprinted in for his hat trick.
Roland Jone was the provider of the next try as he stole their ball on their line, the ruck saw George Tirel pick up and power over, and with Mike Grave almost a fully fledged girly back took the conversion, and got it!!
From then on it was one way traffic as from that kick off Joe caught it ( this really hurts me to write this!) and ran in to score.
They kicked off this time Dan caught it gave it to mike who passed to Elliot to yet again run in another, after this Roland scored one and Joe got another, by this time my pen was alight!! So, ....the final score 5 - 55.
Spooky thing of the day my round came to £5.55p!!!
Laugh of the match, Deklan called a mark after the ball had bounced twice.( he’s gunna hit me for that!) everyone looked at each other not knowing what to do!!!
