On a fine afternoon Old Reds had first use of the Brookfield Road slope and they soon made it count when they raced into an eight point lead after just ten minutes with a try from Craig Owen and a penalty goal from number ten Joe Hall. Two minutes later they went further ahead with try number two, scored by winger Dave Harris and converted by Hall.
Chosen, who because of injuries and un-availabilities were fielding a new-look side, eventually got some points on the board courtesy of a penalty goal from skipper Andy King but this was quickly cancelled out by a Hall penalty goal.
With just thirty five minutes played Old Reds went further ahead with a try from Simon Mortimer converted by Hall and with injury time being played they struck again with their bonus point fourth try scored by Craig Lancaster and converted by Hall for a 32-3 half time lead.
Chosen opened the second half scoring when King chipped over the defence collected the bouncing ball and fed centre Adam Morgan who powered over for a try converted by King. Old Reds responded with a try from Jed Hooper converted by Hall and then Chosen loose head prop Mike Darby was driven over from close range with King adding the extras.
Back came Reds with a second unconverted try from Lancaster and replacement Simon Qui then added try number seven with Hall’s conversion bringing up the fifty points.
Despite injuries to key players Chosen continued to play with passion and commitment and they got their just reward when scrum-half John Wand, who had been in fine form all afternoon, barged his way over for a try converted by centre Jon Coles.
Next week Chosen travel to Walcot Old Boys for their penultimate away fixture of the season.
