Chosen's recent resurgence continued with a cracking four try bonus point victory over Bristol Harlequins.

Strong winds and driving rain meant that only the keenest of supporters turned out to watch this match, but those who braved the elements were rewarded for their loyalty with a great display of fifteen man rugby that gave Chosen their third consecutive win and moved them up to eighth place in the table.
Having lost the toss, Chosen had first use of the slope and wind and, despite the conditions, the match started at a frenetic pace with the home side dominating territory and possession but being unable to break through the committed Harlequins defence.
It was not until the fifteen minute that Chosen were able to open the scoring when skipper and openside Tom Gyde was on hand to finish off a driving maul that had begun some fifteen metres out. Number ten Andy King was just narrow with the conversion attempt from wide out.
The try definitely inspired Chosen to commit to all-out attack and signalled the start of a five minute purple patch that saw them add two further tries.
First, the strong running of centre Chris Howell was rewarded when he crossed wide out only two minutes after the earlier try, but again King was unable to add the extras.
With Chosen’s confidence now sky high and with Harelquins reeling from conceding two quick-fire tries they were unable to defend a pick and drive move that went through about fifteen phases before Gyde powered over for his second try of the afternoon.
Again the score was wide out and again King was just off target with the conversion attempt but he finally got points on the board on the stroke of half time when Harlequins were caught offside on their twenty-two and he stroked over the resultant penalty for an impressive 18-0 lead.
With all the elements now in their favour, it was Harlequins who dominated territory from the second period kick-off and they were duly rewarded after ten minutes when their forwards drove a rolling maul over the line for their opening unconverted try.
The next twenty minutes developed into a bit of a stalemate with both sides showing some remarkable handling skills in the difficult conditions and it was Harlequins who scored next with a converted try from their forwards reducing the deficit to just six points to set up a tense final ten minutes.
With the final whistle rapidly approaching Chosen drove play up the slope into the visitor’s twenty two and only heroic defence kept them out as their forwards, with hooker Leigh Dangerfield and number eight Isiah Young making particularly telling contributions, used the pick and drive to good effect.
On the stroke of full time a Harlequins clearance kick set up a Chosen lineout just inside the twenty two and with the ball secured, the Chosen pack rolled the resulting maul towards the line and replacement flanker Tom Harvey finished off the move as he barged his was over for the fourth and bonus point try.
A great team performance from a Chosen team growing in confidence but next week they face a real test when league leaders Matson will be the visitors to Brookfield Road with the match kicking off at 2.15pm.
