Only three points down as the match entered injury time, Chosen conceded a late interception try that ended their hopes of victory.
Forced to make three changes to their normal back line and up against a totally committed Whitehall side, Chosen were unable to reach the performance heights of recent weeks and although they were still very much in the match with just minutes remaining they were unable to conjure up a winning score and instead conceded a late interception try that denied them even a losing bonus point.
With the wind and slope advantage, a Whitehall penalty after fifteen minutes was the opening score of the match but four minutes later Chosen took the lead when scrum-half Pete Gyde dummied his way through the visitors defence from twenty metres out for a fine try converted by outside half Andy King.
On the stroke of half time Whitehall regained the lead when a converted try gave them a three point lead.
The second half developed into a stalemate situation with both sides struggling to break down some stubborn defence and with play entering the final minutes Chosen were camped inside the visitors twenty two looking for a winning score when they conceded an interception that saw the Whitehall player outstrip some desperate defence to sprint all the way to the line and cross near the posts for the converted try that sealed their victory and moved them above Chosen in the table.
Next week there are no league matches and Chosen return to action on 13th February with an away trip to Chew Valley.
