The rest of the half produced a mid-field stalemate with both sides failing to break down resolute defences so Chosen took a 3-0 lead into the break.
King added a second penalty goal after fifty minutes and ten minutes later number eight Ian Riddel forced his way over for a try but King was unable to add the extras.
An unconverted try from Avonmouth on seventy minutes gave them hope and set up a tense final ten minutes and with injury time being played they finally managed to break down the Chosen defence with a second try. The conversion attempt with the final kick of the game would have given the visitors victory but it went wide and Chosen claimed the victory that keeps them in second place in the table.
