At the end of a long hard season, and with no promotion or play-off prospects, Chosen fielded a new look team that showed nine changes from their previous league encounter, and as Keynsham, who were looking to confirm their League champions status, ran in converted tries after just two and eight minutes with a penalty goal sandwiched between, it looked as though the home side could be in for a very difficult afternoon.
However, to their credit, Chosen refused to be rolled over and a penalty goal from young outside half Harry Matthews after twenty minutes narrowed the gap to fourteen points.
A third converted try after twenty five minutes put the score at 24-3 but Chosen saw out the half without conceding any further score.
Chosen lost Matthews to injury shortly after half time and this forced them to re-arrange their back line with scrum half Tom Knight moving to ten and replacement winger Matt Burrows switching to scrum-half.
With the advantage of the slope, Chosen were able to mount several effective attacking moves but resolute Keynsham defence kept them at bay and the visitors 25th minute converted try proved to be the final score of the match.
So, at the end of a pretty good season, Chosen can feel satisfied with 3rd place in Western Counties North and having got both their firsts and seconds to the semi-finals of the North Gloucestershire Combination Senior & Junior Cups whilst recording good "local darby" wins over the likes of Matson, Coney Hill, Cheltenham, Stroud and Cirencester.
