Chosen had first use of the slope and opened the scoring after just five minutes when number eight Tom Harvey picked up from the base of a scrum ten metres out and dummied his way over for a try converted by Claridge.
Five minutes later a flowing move up the slope saw Yatton cross for an unconverted try but then Claridge landed a penalty goal to extend the Chosen lead to five points and ten minutes later he was on the end of a great passage of interpassing between forwards and backs to cross near the posts and his conversion saw Chosen establish a 12 point lead.
Yatton, like Chosen were looking to run the ball at every opportunity and it was no surprise when they crossed for their second try, again unconverted.
A second try from Harvey and the conversion from Claridge saw Chosen take a 24-10 lead into the break.
Yatton were first to score in the second half when after a series of scrums near the Chosen line they were awarded a penalty try with the resulting seven points putting them right back in contention and just ten minutes later they crossed for their bonus point try to narrow the Chosen lead to just two points and set up a tense final ten minutes.
Claridge banged over a penalty goal to give his team a little breathing space and then hooker Rob Panting sealed victory with Chosen's fourth and bonus point try, but after a great afternoon with the boot, Claridge's final kick at goal drifted just wide of the upright.
Next week Chosen travel to local rivals Old Richians with Veteran sides from both clubs playing at 1.00 pm as a curtain raiser for the league match
