As has been the norm all season, Chosen started with a different side to the one that took on Avonmouth last weekend and almost inevitably they lost two players to injury during the match.
Berry Hill opened the scoring after fifteen minutes with a penalty goal from outside half Croudance but two minutes later Chosen levelled with a similar score from Mark Yemm. A strong run from Berry Hill centre Powell brought him a try under the posts converted by Croudance and they went further ahead five minutes later when number eight Hobbs bulldozed his way over after a charged down Chosen clearance kick. Croudance added the extras for a fourteen point lead but Chosen got back into the game with two penalty goals from Yemm.
With half time approaching the home side increased their lead to fifteen points with a converted try from winger Hanson but Chosen had the last say of the half when winger Claridge crossed wide out for an unconverted try.
Chosen winger Ed Higgs who was making his return after being out injured since the first game of the season was forced to leave the field at half time with a fractured wrist and he was soon followed by flanker Mike Panting who picked up a leg injury.
Despite their injury toll Chosen performed well in a second half that saw both sides score just once. Berry hill got the first score when flanker Brown was driven over from a lineout with Croudance converting and on the hour Chosen full back Ashley Lewis was on hand to take a perfectly timed cross-field kick from outside half Yemm to sprint over in the corner for an unconverted try.
Next Saturday, Chosen entertain second placed Brixham at Brookfield Road with a 2.30pm kick off.
