Chosen took the lead when Wand touched down early on after good work from his forwards but full back Mark Yemm was off target with the conversion attempt. The visitor’s pack continued to impress but Paignton, who have been in good form this season, took control of the match and following an earlier score, a converted try on the stroke of half time gave them a 19 – 5 interval lead.
The second half was a very even affair with both sides adding a solitary try, Chosen’s coming from young prop Mike Darby who battled his way over the try line with Yemm adding the conversion. Paignton failed to convert their try but added a penalty goal to complete their victory.
For Chosen this was another hugely encouraging performance with all their players showing great commitment and they now look forward to next week’s home match against Penryn when hopefully more of their long term injured will become available for selection.
