On a cold but dry afternoon and with the pitch in good condition despite the heavy rainfall over the previous 24 hours, Chosen started their eleventh league match of the season at pace and the match was only two minutes old when centre Tom Darby raced over for try number one with Andy King adding the conversion.
Six minutes later winger Harri Yorke used his power and pace to beat three defenders and cross near the posts with King adding the conversion and two minutes later Darby crossed for his second try with King's conversion bringing up the 21 point tally.
Despite the score line it was Richians who were dominating both possession and territory but whenever Chosen got the ball in hand they were clinical in attack and after just fifteen minutes Yorke crossed for his second try but King was unable to add the extras.
Next to score for Chosen was hard working flanker Rob Panting who barged his way over on the half hour with King converting and with half time approaching Yorke then completed his hat trick of tries after another fine run down the right wing. King missed the conversion but soon made amends as he knocked over the conversion of Chosen's final try of the half which was scored by prop Rowan Mullis who showed great pace to outstrip the Richians defence in a remarkable 50 metre charge to the line with the try being even more significant as at the time Chosen were down to just 13 players with both Darby and full back James Wyllie in the sin bin.
The second half started with Richians in a more determined mood and whilst the Chosen supporters were hoping for at least a few more tries it was 15 minutes into the half before Darby raced in for his hat trick unconverted try to bring up the 50 points.
The final 25 minutes of the match remained scoreless as outstanding defence from both sides dominated proceedings but with the final move of the match Richians managed to barge their way over the line from a forward drive near the corner. The conversion attempt drifted wide as the referee blew up for full time.
With Cheltenham North having conceded next Saturday's Senior Vase semi-final match to Chosen, the Richians match has proved to be Chosen's final competitive match of the year with their next scheduled fixture being a Home match against St Marys Old Boys on Saturday 4th January 2020
