A closely contested match saw Chosen secure their second home victory of the season and edge up to ninth place in the league

Playing in bright sunshine and with a strong wind blowing down the slope, it was visitors Yatton who had first use of the elements and they soon opened the scoring when outsdie half Sam Osborne landed a penalty goal after just two minutes.
Chosen's skipper Andy King had an opportunity to level the scores after six minutes but his penalty goal attempt went wide, however three minutes later he charged down an attempted Yatton clearance and as the ball bounced over the visitor's line Chosen centre Martin Roberts was the fastest to respond, diving on it for the opening unconverted try.
Yatton re-took the lead on fifteen minutes with a second Osborne penalty and five minutes later he added his third but Chosen came straight back and after good interpassing from his fellow forwards, second row Marc Riddel danced and dummied his way over under the posts for a try converted by King.
Chosen then lost prop Nick Selway to the sinbin but even though they were down to fourteen men they increased their lead when King intercepted near the half way and spun the ball out to his backs for winger Scott Claridge to finish the move with a try in the corner. King added the conversion for a 19-9 lead but back came Yatton with another penalty goal from Osborne and then, on the stroke of half time, an unconverted try from centre Mike Harris narrowed Chosen's lead to just two points.
Penalty goals from King after forty one and fifty five minutes gave Chosen an eight point lead and then winger Sean Kavanagh finished off another flowing backs move when he crossed in the corner after seventy five minutes. King added the conversion for a 32-17 lead but Yatton refused to conceed victory and a last minute try from number eight Chris Harris converted by Osborne narrowed the deficit to just eight points.
Next Saturday, Chosen are again at home when their visitors will be Clevedon
