Only 14-6 down after thirty minutes and with their forwards performing well, it looked as though Chosen were going to give the students a good run for their money but converted tries after thirty six and thirty nine minutes and a penalty goal from in-form kicker Hart suddenly gave the home side a comfortable 31-9 interval lead, with Chosen’s points having come from three penalty goals from skipper Andy King.
In the second half Hartpury used their wide pitch to good effect, shipping the ball out to the wings at every opportunity where their pace and power caught the Chosen defence wanting and they added a further eight tries, seven of which were converted by Hart.
Whilst Chosen were suffering at the hands of Hartpury, next week’s opponents Ivybridge had their own problems, going down by 57 – 3 at home to third place Brixham. The Ivybridge match at Brookfield Road, kicks off at 2.15pm
