Before this match, the last time Chosen travelled to Oldfield’s Shaft Lane headquarters it was for a South West One West league encounter in November 2011 and, forced to field a team that was made up of twelve forwards and just three recognised backs they went down heavily by 53 – 7, but today there was to be no repeat as Chosen, with their injury and unavailability problems easing by the week, dominated proceedings from the kick-off.

Leading by 29 – 3 at half time the Churchdown side added another seventeen points in the second half and in total they ran in seven tries for this bonus point win that cemented their forth place in Western Counties North.

Three players, winger Scott Claridge, lock Marc Riddel and flanker Mike Panting all scored two tries apiece with the other touch down coming from prop Mike Darby.

Claridge, who had returned to the wing after standing in at outside half last week, added one conversion, with the Hill’s other points coming from the boot of full back Ashley Lewis who landed three conversions and a penalty goal.

Next week Chosen have their second home league match as they welcome third place Chew Valley to Brookfield Road for what promises to be an interesting encounter with the match kicking off at 3.00pm.
