Chosen had first use of the Brookfield Road slope and they made their attacking intentions clear when they opened the scoring after just five minutes when a fine passing move involving much of the team ended with outside half Andy King putting in a delightful cross field kick for winger Tom Darby to collect on the bounce a cross in the left hand corner for an unconverted try.
Keynsham, who last week had beaten Matson, quickly equalised with an unconverted try of their own but then Chosen full back Scott Claridge was on hand to pick up another accurate King cross field kick and score wide out, but his conversion attempt went wide.
On the half hour Chosen scored try number three when another flowing move involving forwards and backs ended with young winger Dan Peacock going over near the posts with King adding the extras.
The match was developing into a fine spectacle of running rugby for supporters of both sides and Keynsham put a smile back on the faces of their travelling fans with their second try which was converted leaving Chosen in front by 17-12 at the break.
The second half was more about defence then attack but Keynsham did manage to draw level with their third unconverted try on sixty minutes after the stalwart Chosen defence was finally breached.
With the advantage of the slope and breeze, the visitors went all out for the winning score and although Chosen spent most of the final ten minutes in their own twenty-two, their defence, which had been shored up by the arrival evergreen back rower Marc Riddel, held firm and the match ended in a draw that reflected the equality of effort and performance from both teams.
Next week Chosen make the short trip over the hill to Redwell Road for a local derby match against Matson with a 2.30pm kick-off.
