Chosen started brightly and opened the scoring after just two minutes when forwards and backs combined well to send number eight Tom Gyde over near the corner with number ten Mike King adding the conversion.
Coney Hill missed a penalty attempt after five minutes but two minutes later they levelled the scores with a converted try from a lineout move ten metres out.
On twenty minutes Chosen conjured up a wonderful try involving most of the team as they ran the ball from inside their own half, shifting it from right to left and back again before Gyde was on hand to take the scoring pass and dive over for his second try of the match. King missed the conversion but minutes later added a penalty goal.
Chosen lost centre Matt Elston with a shoulder injury and then had second row Marc Riddel bined for a lineout offence and with ten minutes of the half remaining and Chosen down to fourteen men Coney scored their second try, a solo effort from Ryan Barnett which he also converted but there was no further score before the break, and Chosen took a 15-14 lead into the second half.
Three minutes into the second period Coney went into the lead for the first time after good driving play from their forwards set up an unconverted try which edged them in front 19-15.
Chosen’s pack was under pressure in the set piece and they did well to retain their own ball despite often being shoved backwards, but the constant pressure and Coney Hill’s support play at the breakdown took its toll and Coney ran in three more tries with Chosen’s only score of the half being a penalty goal from King.
Despite the score-line this was a good effort from a Chosen side missing several first team regulars and next week Chosen are at home to Keynsham who currently sit one place above them in 4th position.
