On a fine sunny afternoon, Chosen Hill moved up to fourth place in the league with a convincing six try victory over visitors Keynsham.

Chosen often seem to produce their best when they play Keynsham and despite being under pressure in the set piece the trend continued as they again ran out worthy winners, with the visitors scoring two late converted tries to gain a four try bonus point.
Keynsham arrived unbeaten this season and siting one place above Chosen in the league and with their big pack and a couple of hefty backs they started strongly, driving play down the slope to cross wide out for an unconverted try after ten minutes.
Two minutes later Chosen centre Josh Pettifer crossed for his side’s opening try but number ten Andy King, making his first appearance of the season, was just wide with the conversion.
On twenty five minutes Keynsham regained the lead with a converted try but minutes later Chosen number eight Josh Bailey crossed for an unconverted try to narrow the gap to two points.
With half time approaching Chosen went into the lead when prop Jamie Wilce burrowed his way over from a penalty lineout five meters out. King added the extras for a 17-12 interval lead.
Now with the advantage of the slope, it took Chosen just five minutes to increase their lead as full back Tom Darby finished of a flowing move started on the half way line by a delightful chip over the defence from King and involving Pettifer and winger Ryan Rennebach who timed is pass to perfection to send Darby racing in. King added the extras and just two minutes later he was again on target as Darby showed good pace to cross for his second try from twenty meters out.
Leading 31-12, Chosen were now on full song and Bailey produced a lovely second try, galloping in from the half way line to cross wide out. King’s conversion attempt hit the upright.
With twenty minutes still to play Chosen might have expected the flood gates to open but Keynsham, who always looked dangerous with ball in hand, regained the initiative and ran in two converted tries to narrow the gap to twelve points and secure the four try bonus point.
Next week Chosen travel to second placed and unbeaten Newent for a double header League and Gloucestershire Intermediate Cup Quarter Final match that will kick off at 2.30 p.m.
