Missing several regular players Chosen fielded a young and inexperienced team against Chew Valley who are in a rich vein of form and who arrived on the back of victories against both league leaders Coney Hill, and second placed Newent.
With the advantage of the Brookfield Road slope, Chosen opened the scoring after just two minutes when number ten Ross Creed slotted a penalty goal. Chew missed their own first penalty attempt but on fifteen minutes opened their scoring with a converted try from a ten metre scrum which they drove all the way over the line.
Three minutes later they added a second converted try, this time after a flowing backs move. Despite their disadvantage at the set piece Chosen continued to play with real commitment, producing some telling tackles against much bigger opponents and after Chew had added a penalty goal, Chosen struck back when blindside Dan Probin crashed over for a try with Creed adding the extras.
A second converted pushover try from Chew took their total to 26 points but on the stroke of half time a penalty goal from Creed made the score 13-26.
Two more pushover tries from Chew made the score 13 - 38 and another unconverted try further increased the visitors lead before they ran up the 50 points with one last converted try.
Chosen however scored the final points of the match when Creed intercepted near the halfway and sprinted in to touch down under the posts with his conversion bringing his side's total to 20.
