Having lost the toss, Chosen had first use of the Brookfield Road slope but it took them fifteen minutes to open the scoring when outside half Andy King landed a penalty goal after Barton had infringed at a ruck.
A minute later Chosen lost centre Steve Merrick to the sin-bin but it mattered not as a quickly taken tap penalty awarded minutes later on the half way line saw speedy winger Ed Higgs jink and weave his way through the visitors defence and touch down under the posts with King adding the conversion for a ten point lead.
With Merrick still in the sin-bin Chosen struck again when hooker Rob Panting and King combined well to send winger Grant Panting in for his side’s second try with King again adding the extras.
Barton Hill replied with a well worked try of their own with the conversion reducing the deficit to ten points but on the stroke of half time King added a penalty goal for a thirteen point cushion.
Chosen lost both second rows Dean Barnard and Nick Stroud to injuries that occurred as they tried to halt a powerful driving maul from the visitors but they were still first to score in the second half when full back Tom Darby went over for an unconverted try after fifty minutes.
Ten minutes later King intercepted a loose Barton pass near the halfway line and galloped up the wing before cutting inside to cross near the post with his conversion putting his side 32-7 up and earning them a four try bonus point.
Barton responded with a converted try of their own after seventy minutes and with King in the sin-bin for offside at a scrum, the visitors made the extra man count as they ran in their own third try but the conversion attempt went wide.
With injury time being played, Chosen’s scrum half Rory Lamden attempted a long range penalty goal but his effort fell short and the final whistle went shortly afterwards.
Next week Chosen travel to in-form and third placed Bristol Harlequins for another league encounter.
