Playing down the slope and with the advantage of a following wind, Cheltenham got off to a dream start with an unconverted try after just two minutes but Chosen soon responded when full back Tom Darby raced through from thirty metres out for a try near the posts that number ten Andy King converted.
Cheltenham’s bigger pack were making life difficult for the home forwards and after they had shoved Chosen back at a couple of five metre scrums, the referee awarded them a penalty try with the conversion putting them back in front.
A third unconverted try gave Cheltenham a 17-7 interval lead.
Now with the slope and wind advantage, Chosen reduced the deficit to just three points when skipper and open side flanker Tom Gyde finished off a driving lineout with a try that King converted.
A long range penalty goal from King after sixty minutes put the sides level at 17 all and a minute later Chosen went back in front when King crossed wide out and then converted for a 22-17 lead.
A second unconverted try from Darby put Chosen further in front and denied Cheltenham a losing bonus point.
Chosen now face a busy week with a Combination Cup semi-final against Spartans on Tuesday night and then play their final league match of the season on Saturday away at Old Bristolians.
