Chosen make good job of difficult opponents.

It was a brisk chilli day as Chosen Hill entertained a rejuvenated old Cryptians side; the ground was perfect for this game that was postponed because of the weather.
Cryptians looked strong and keen from the start beating our boys to the breakdown on numerous occasions, good tackling stopping any attack Crypt wished to do. Chosen’s scrums were a bit loose and a few words from the really old props Paul Ryland and Billy Bates tightened it up and from a settled scrum the ball was moved across the field and some well timed passes gave Josh Cannon the space to round his man and score in the corner.
The second try was similar with Josh beating his man on the outside, but managing to get the ball closer to the posts for Elliott to convert.
Crypts were on the attack again, maybe taking the wrong options at times as some Chosen lads were walking, giving Crypts time to make some moves, after Chosen forwards had woken up they started to get momentum in the loose, with some good tight offloads, it was Mikey Graves and the ever present Nick Bates that set off the next move, it took a high tackle to prevent a try but Chosen took a quick one and Elliott found a gap and slid through to score, and convert.
Half Time 19 - 0
Chosen had many changes; it was nice to see Joey Mullis back after his leg injury.
Crypts started the second half as strong as the first, but this time they offloaded a quick ball to score. From the restart Crypts dropped the ball giving Chosen a scrum on the 22, this time the ball was good, a pick up from Nick and a timed pass to Mikey saw him score, the perfect repost, which was converted by Elliott.
Crypts were trying to press but a knock on or a bad pass thwarted their every move. James Foylan making his comeback gave a lovely timed pass to Elliott who saw him hand off a couple before going over the whitewash, and he converted.
Crypts heads were down now and were missing tackles as Joey powered through the defence to score. Elliott added the extras.
With time running out Crypts were trying to attack, but an unforced error left the ball on the floor, Tim Rogers kicked on and after a battle over who was going to have the ball and score, it was left to Roland Jones who was doing a great job of following up to catch the ball and fall over the line, the kick was missed but this was the end of the game.
Altogether a good result, I think it flattered us but we did make the most of our chances.
Man of the match was Josh Cannon, who is probably still at the club trying to finish his shandy!!!!!!
